It's a shame that I can't see true black colour there ... I recommend that you check histogram in Photoshop or adjust curves ... the photo is very light (may be caused by your scanner). The composition is not IMHO right ... if you want it to be in center, it should be centered horizontally properly ... I would also crop the bottom a bit and add some space to the top of the photo
